Best Wedding Photography 2018

For us, it’s been a year of transition and growth. Paul started the year by attending Foundation Workshop in Texas. A week long intensive photojournalism training course. Run by Huy Nguyen, head honcho at Fearless Photographers. Being forced into a unique situation and really taking him out of his comfort zone, with the pressure of having to produce a set of amazing images from a very ordinary everyday situation. Every photographer gets a different assignment, Paul’s was to cover a Meals on Wheels organisation, delivering food to local residents in the local area. It truly pushed him to his limits and made him reach deep to become even more creative in his work than he has ever been. That is valuable training that has translated into even stronger more meaningful images throughout 2018. Big thanks to his mentors Sergio Lopez & Kirsten Lewis. It was also great to meet many new friends and catch up with old ones.

Amongst all our summer weddings we found time to visit Verona in Italy, a country we both hold very dear to our hearts. During that trip, Paul proposed to me one evening, on the steps of the castle in Soave! Our wedding will be back in Italy this June, in a Tuscan Town called Certaldo. We both attended an amazing workshop there in November. Moments, moments, moments! – Fearless Class Italy, with Huy Nguyen and Tyler Wirken, a workshop dedicated to capturing those unique moments during a wedding. Which has always been a core value in our photography. Again, so many valuable lessons learned that will continue to take our work to another level, not to mention new friends made. Including the wonderful Damiano & Donatella who will be the photographers for our own special day.

We both picked up quite a few awards for our wedding images last year. Including my first ISPWP award, a WPJ award and 4 NineDots awards. While Paul won 3 NineDots and 3 WPJ awards. It’s a really great feeling to have your images recognised by your peers. We also claimed runner up position in The Wedding Industry Awards – TWIA, for the South Central region. That’s the second year running. Perhaps this year we might win it….

Alongside our getting married this year, we have decided to re-brand our business. Stylish Wedding Photography will become Tansley Photography. Even stronger photography, a new name and a great start for our 2019 wedding season.
