We are Carol and Paul Tansley award-winning Winchester wedding photographers . We’ve been photographing weddings in and around Winchester for the last 15 years. Based in Hampshire around 40 minutes north of Winchester, we shoot weddings all over the South of the UK.

The Winchester area is blessed with a good selection of wedding venues. Some of those venues include Lainston House, Norton Park, the Clock Barn and New Place and of course not forgetting one of the prettiest registry offices in the country right next to Winchester Castle. About Winchester

Winchester is considered to be the old capital of England. King Alfred the Great (c849-899) rebuilt the city after the Dark Ages. The famous statue of him, designed by Hamo Thornycroft, dominates the city at the end of The Broadway.

Further along the broadway you will find the magnificent Gothic building the is the Guildhall Winchester. And impressive building to use as your wedding venue. We shot one of our early weddings there many years ago. The city has one of the largest cathedrals in Europe, which boasts the longest nave and overall length of any Gothic cathedral. The famous novelist Jane Austin is buried there. Another building of note is Winchester Castle, just opposite the registry office. They have a medieval round table on display, purported to be the famous one used by King Arthur.

Also of note is the Winchester City Mill, a working 18th century corn mill. Carol and I keep meaning to visit this, but there never seems to be enough time in life, too busy shooting weddings all summer long.

We had a very small wedding and I was worried about the photographer feeling awkward, or there not being much to photograph, but Paul and Carol gave us the perfect experience and results. They were super friendly and helpful right from the start, and we instantly felt like they were the right fit for us. Talking to them before the wedding and understanding their process took away a lot of my anxiety and helped me enjoy the run up and day much more. Carol and Paul are both extremely professional while being friendly, lovely people. It was a pleasure to have them capture our day. They blended in seamlessy and just felt like two other guests. There was no forced poses or awkwardness - they simply melted into the wedding and captured all the little moments beautifully. I'm not a fan of having my picture taken, but they made it all so easy, and we now have a huge collection of stunning photos we will cherish forever. There isn't a single one we're unhappy with, which I feel is something of a miracle! I would trust Tansley Photography with any special event. If you prefer natural, laid-back photography that captures the soul of the occasion, you can't go wrong with Carol and Paul.

Choosing a photographer for your wedding is incredibly overwhelming with so many options out there. I struggled so much as we just wanted the reality of the day photographed and for the memorable moments to be captured. The Tansleys gave us exactly what we wanted. The photos are stunning, natural and going through them has allowed us to relive the day exactly as it happened. Both Paul and Carol are incredibly knowledgeable and professional at providing great natural photographs that provide a full photo documentary of the day, all without the posing and faff so many photographers need to make their photos look good. Before the day we had several calls where we were given invaluable advice, things we had never thought of were covered so that we were able to have the best photos taken on the day. Looking back at the photos we still smile knowing how we were lucky enough to get that particular photo, without the advice it wouldn't have happened. There were no hidden costs and at a very competitive price especially with how long they were there and the time and effort it took to go through all of the photos before we received the album. All in all I can not express how happy we are. Neither my husband or I enjoy having our photos taken but with the Tansleys help we love our wedding photos. The photos they took are incredible, and their documentary style was perfect for us in not only being unobtrusive into our special day but also producing photos that actually reflect what happened. Their past experience in fashion photography is made clear when you look at the portraits that are taken, which were fantastic. It’s not a surprise they win so many awards. Paul and Carol took time to meet with us before our special day to help break the ice and go through tips to help us achieve the best photos possible. They were really easy to get along with which is super important as despite the “documentary style”, you will inevitably spend many hours in your wedding photographers company. They were also kind enough to signpost us to past suppliers other weddings had used which was very helpful. Overall, can’t rate Tansley Photography high enough. We could not have had a better experience. We wanted natural, and candid photos that reflected the family feel of the event and he absolutely delivered. Initially, we didn't realise that Tansley Photography was a duo, let alone a married couple. We felt like we were getting two experts for the price of one, especially considering their impressive ratings and numerous awards. From the very beginning, Paul provided endless support leading up to the wedding. He arranged a personalised session a couple of weeks prior, guiding us through what to expect on the big day and offering tips on how to stay natural for the best shots. We are both not the most comfortable in front of the camera but he helped us get the most incredible pictures. The chats beforehand put us at ease and helped us know how to get the best out of our day. On the day Paul felt like a guest - he got amazing pictures but no one felt the pressure of a camera and we are over the moon with the pictures.
