Becky & Greg’s Northbrook Park Wedding
I’m always happy when I get booked for a Northbrook Park wedding – it’s a beautiful wedding venue, just outside my local town of Farnham in Surrey. Becky booked me exactly one year before her wedding day. She booked without ever meeting me, which is always interesting to me, as I’m always curious as to if my brides understand the way I will be working at their wedding. I’m not your traditional wedding photographer running around the wedding asking guests to ‘smile’ for the camera. I’m very much a documentary wedding photographer, I’m there to observe and watch the action, not orchestrate or direct it. When I finally met Becky at Northbrook Park, two months before the wedding, it was immediately apparent that I was the right photographer for her. My documentary approach and being totally unobtrusive on the day was exactly what she was after.
My good friend David helped me out at this wedding, covering the groom preps, while I covered Becky getting ready at a lovely little barn nearby. We then drove to Northbrook Park for the ceremony and the reception. There was a tremendous amount of love at this wedding, not only between the couple but between Becky and her friends and family. It was beautiful to see and capture. I loved the presents Becky had made for the bridesmaids, just tiny wooden boxes full of personal pictures of them together over the years, a beautiful and thoughtful gift.

Northbrook Park Wedding
The final image in this set from Northbrook Park is a fantastic documentary photo. I’m so happy that I saw Becky post this to her instagram page with the following comment. She totally got it. She understood the importance of this type of image. Wedding photography is all about capturing moments, capturing memories. It’s not just about some group photos or couple portraits. They are a tiny part of the day. Images like this one, where there is so much going on are what makes documentary wedding photography so special. Images that make you look around the scene and explore. The bridesmaids dancing together, grandma in the background dancing with a young man, the couple standing on Becky’s dress without even realising, as they are lost in a kiss. Just fabulous.
This is what Becky wrote:
“The more I look at this picture the more I cry with laughter!!! Every time I look I see something new!! New friendships being formed, old ones being celebrated. Friends and family really are everything and we are so unbelievably blessed to have you all in our lives… even when you stand on my amazing dress! Thank you to Paul, our incredible photographer, for capturing this once in a lifetime moment”
