New Place Wedding Photographers
This was our first time shooting a wedding at New Place Hotel in Hampshire. I knew I was going to enjoy the wedding, Courtney and Tom were just nice people, who I could easily sit and chat to, we had a very relaxed pre-meet, a few weeks before the big day. That’s always a good sign. When we shoot weddings we want our couples to forget we are even there. The day isn’t about us or the photography, it’s about the couple. So the more they relax with us and forget that we’re even taking photos, the better.
This is a small selection of the images from their wedding day at New Place. The day started at Courtney’s parents house. They are really into Peaky Blinders, the TV series. Even going so far as to have a cool painting on their hall wall and pet bulldogs as well. They are part of the family. As animal lovers, expect a few photos of the dogs at your wedding. Can’t resist them.
The ceremony was held at St James Church in Portsmouth. With the wedding reception afterwards at New Place Hotel, which is in between Portsmouth and Southampton.

New Place Hotel
New Place was built around 1906, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It’s a masterpiece of exceptional brickwork. It takes its name from Shakespeare’s house, also called New Place. Mrs Franklyn who commissioned the build, was distantly connected to Shakespeare’s mother, Mary Arden. From 1956 to 1978 it operated as a Boys school. But was then later sold off and run as a conference centre. They also started holding weddings and dinner parties at this time. It is now owned and run as part of the Legacy Hotels group.

Oh wow, I love that they had a bucking bronco! what a fun wedding to photograph, so many great images in this selection.
Yeah, the bucking bronco sure was fun to shoot. Almost wish I’d had a go, but didn’t want to break a leg before finishing the shoot…
As Always with your work it’s full of great human connection, and that bull ride looks like a hoot!
Thx Ben. That’s very kind. If I can try and get real human connection in my images, I’m extremely happy. Nothing is more powerful in images, imho. When I look back at my own wedding photos, it’s the real moments that really make me feel something.
That’s it, every wedding should have a mechanical bull!
Lovely images, looks like a really fun wedding!
Thx for stopping by Natalie
