Millbridge Court Winter Wedding
What could be lovelier just after Christmas than a Millbridge Court Winter Wedding? With a little snow still lying on the ground. If you add the fact that Jess and Alex both live very locally to us and got married in our local village church, All Saints Parish Church in Headley, it made the perfect day. A beautiful local wedding. My morning commute to shoot Jess getting ready was about 2 minutes. Carol had a slightly longer drive to Grayshott, around 5 minutes away.
This was my second wedding at All Saints Church and Andrew the vicar was again very accommodating to us. Not all vicars will allow a photographer to be at the front of the church during the wedding ceremony, so it’s always a privilege when I get that chance. It allows me to capture those special once in a lifetime moments. I’m especially pleased with the shot of Jess and her dad walking down the aisle towards Alex, it’s one of my favourite images of 2017.
A small note to my photographer friends. The aisle shot was captured with a Sony A9 with the Sony 85mm f1.8 attached. I’m really enjoying using this camera for its superb autofocus ability, even holding focus as brides walk towards you. Plus, the completely silent shutter is a dream for church weddings especially.
In the evening once the sun had set, Jess really wanted an evening portrait. So she braved the cold (it really was cold) to venture outside for a shot under the arch in Millbridge Court’s garden. That gave me a chance to play with my new Magmod flash adaptor. The grid attachment works really well for creating a stunning image.
