Froyle Park Wedding | Sabrina & Jamal

Froyle Park was a new venue for us to shoot at this year. It’s another local venue to us on the Surrey/Hampshire border, run by the same folk who run Northbrook Park in Surrey, so we were really happy when Sabrina & Jamal chose us to be their photographers for their big day. We had several weddings lined up at Foyle park in 2015/16 and as this was the first it gave as the opportunity to see what the new venue was like and how it would work in pictures. Even though we don’t pose the vast majority of the days pictures (apart from couple portraits and group shots) it’s still nice to know the venue a little and know how it works during the wedding day.

The day started in one of the prep rooms at Froyle Park with a room packed full of bridesmaids, parents, relatives, children and two videographers! It was a bit chaotic, but we like that. Just makes it more of a challenge to get clean shots where everything in the scene is interesting. Sabrina was full of smiles, which is always great on the wedding day. Happy smiling people make our job easier as there are far more keeper images to choose from in the final set. Once prep was done, we left for the church ceremony at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Farnham. It’s always interesting to see how different church ceremonies proceed and how different churches work in pictures. The priest was very happy to allow me to stay near the front of the ceremony and also we had access to a useful balcony overlooking the church, which allowed both Carol and myself to pop up there and get and overview of the scene. Love the shot looking down as Jamal puts Sabrina’s ring on. I always like to capture that moment and did so nicely, but even better Carol caught it too from an unusual angle. The priest nearly caught me out with the First Kiss shot though as he said they could kiss before they put the rings on, which was very unusual.

Returning to Froyle Park after the ceremony, guests were entertained with a Casino set up by Harlequin Casino. Which some of the guests clearly loved – looked like experienced gamblers! There was also entertainment from a fantastic saxophone player. The entertainment carried on during the meal with a live singer alongside the saxophone player. These guys clearly liked their music. In fact, during the speeches, which were hilarious – even to us as strangers to the family – two of Sabrina’s best friends got up and sang a song from when they were all in a band together – they then dragged Sabrina up to sing with them, Jamal was killing himself laughing, which made for some great pictures. These guys were a lot of fun and I think that shows in the pictures.
