Oakley Court Wedding Photography

Lana & Peter chose me for their Oakley Court wedding photography to tell the story of their special day in beautiful natural documentary images, in my unobtrusive style. Their wedding was a very small intimate wedding for close friends and family. The couple booked me for a half day package, to cover 5 hours of the wedding, from bridal prep until just after a river trip on the Thames, where they were to hold their first dance with their guests and have some afternoon tea below decks. Unusually, Lana & Peter chose to shoot their wedding portraits before the ceremony, which is very common in the USA, where they call it the First Look. In some ways, I can totally understand the logic, as all of the family groups and portraits were shot before the wedding ceremony, meaning the rest of the day was free for everyone to enjoy. I’m not sure if it will ever really catch on in the UK as the tradition of not seeing the bride until the ceremony is so strongly embedded in our psyche. But it was interesting to shoot that way.

Oakley Court is a beautiful old Victorian Manor house, situated on the banks of the Thames, near Windsor, Berkshire. This was my first time shooting at the venue and I loved it. It’s very majestic and the dark oak panelling is always going to be beautiful in images and especially suits my black and white style.

I offer half day rates for certain dates throughout the year, these are usually Monday-Thursday weddings,  when I am able to make reduced offers other than my normal Friday, Saturday & Sunday prices. However, the best way to ensure the best solutions for your photography is to get in touch and chat with me about your own wedding needs. My job as a story teller is to tell the story of your day. But that can be done in many ways.
