Winchester + The Greyhound Stockbridge Wedding | Sarah & Nick
I’ve got to say, I felt a little bit of pressure to make this wedding really look great. The reason being was that Sarah had booked us because she’d already seen a previous wedding we’d shot – Gemma & Joe’s wedding from September 2016. That was one of our favourite weddings that year. Sarah loved that wedding so much, she had studied our blog post and booked the same makeup artist for her wedding, Ausra @ Kristina Gasperas Hair and Makeup. Plus she’d also decided to get ready at the same place that Gemma got ready too – which makes sense, since Hannah’s B&B (now known as 16a Winchester, is a no brainer really, if you’re getting married in Winchester. It’s just such a lovely little place – perfect to get ready for your wedding in the morning.
If that wasn’t pressure enough to perform at my best In the morning I met Sarah’s grandmother. She pointed out to me, that Sarah is closely related to a very famous fashion photographer! As an ex-fashion photographer myself, I knew his name really well – used to shoot for Vogue. Absolutely no pressure there then!
The wedding ceremony was held at Winchester Registry Office. We’ve photographed a few weddings there and it always works well in pictures. The ceremony rooms are nice and colourful.
I really love the shot above. It’s just sublime. truly a classic Tansley image. I would have been pleased with this if I’d have shot it for a fashion magazine. Back in the day when I used to only shoot fashion. To shoot an image like this at a wedding is pretty special. That’s where all those years of photographic experience really help.
After the ceremony at Winchester Registry office, we headed off to Stockbridge, a beautiful Hampshire village. Sarah & Nick’s wedding reception was held at the Greyhound on Test, Stockbridge. A lovely little restaurant/wedding venue with beautiful views along the river.
