Russets Country House Wedding | Sam & Ian

This was the first time shooting a wedding at Russets Country House and I have to say we were really impressed, so a huge thank you to Sam & Ian for booking us to shoot their wedding day. Tim & Kate, the owners, have done a superb job of creating a very unique venue, which is not only beautiful but also really relaxing to be at. They made us, and I’m sure all of the guests, feel very welcome. In fact, it felt far more like being a guest at their personal country estate rather than the feeling you get at some venues which are just too corporate in their approach. Being one of our local venues, we really hope to be shooting more weddings at Russets in the future.
As usual Carol and I started the day with Sam’s bridal preparations in a beautiful room at Russets especially designed for the purpose. This is always a good time to get the bridal party used to us being at the wedding and taking pictures. Most people are going to be a bit nervous when we first get the cameras out, but they soon relax into things and after a while forget that we are even there, which is perfect for the way we like to shoot. Make-up was by Kristina Gasperas, who we will certainly be recommending to brides in the future, her make-up was lovely. We then left to go to the church, just a mile down the road in the local village of Chiddingfold. The vicar there was kind enough to allow me to be in my usual position at the front of the church, while Carol was able to get some classic shots from the back during the service. We then returned to Russets for drinks and canapés followed by the wedding breakfast all prepared by Lou at Just Jane Catering, who is a total pleasure to work with and their food was fantastic.
