A beautiful summer day with clear blue skies – what an amazing day to get married at Hampton Court House in Surrey! This was such a fun wedding to shoot, Fliss and Jasper didn’t stop smiling all day long It was also one of the hottest days of the year, so we had the perfect weather for an open top bus ride, where the whole wedding party sang their hearts out on the journey from the church to the venue.
Hampton Court House is a hidden gem, tucked down a little lane across the road from the world famous Hampton Court Palace. For most of the year it is a private school, hosting just a few weddings a year. The original building dates from 1757 and is set in 8 acres of countryside. I was lucky to first shoot here many years ago for Wedding & Home magazine, when I was still shooting fashion. It was great to finally return to the House for a real wedding.
The whole wedding was all very local to the couples home. Jasper started the day with a wet shave at Palace Barber in East Molesey, before he and groomsmen got ready at The Mitre Hotel on Hampton Court Bridge, walking back across the bridge for the wedding ceremony at St Mary’s Church, East Molesey.
Meanwhile, Fliss was getting ready at home within walking distance of the church. We love to cover both sides of the wedding morning, whenever possible, as it gives such a complete story of wedding day preparations.

We arrived at the venue on an open top bus, with the couple and guests singing their hearts out through the whole journey. An absolute blast to photograph, everyone was just so happy. Capturing laughs and smiles at a wedding makes our job so much fun.

“We got married two weeks ago and cannot recommend Paul and Carol highly enough, if we could give them more stars on this review then we would! From our first call, we knew we were in very safe hands; they are such a warm and compassionate couple who obviously love what they do and are extremely good at it. They encapsulate the reportage photography style – we felt we were able to completely enjoy the flow of the day as it all unfolded, and Paul and Carol unobtrusively captured all of the wonderful moments as they happened. The photos are absolutely stunning, our friends and family love them and we can’t stop looking through them. It’s going to be very difficult to choose which ones to print as they are all amazing! We loved sharing moments with Paul and Carol throughout the day, and in the morning they were both so supportive and kind when we were feeling nervous and excited.”.

Hampton Court House wedding photographers Carol & Paul are available to shoot weddings all over the South East and sometimes further afield, on request. Our photography style is always mainly reportage, aka documentary style. We don’t pose scenes, ask anyone to move out of the way or get in the way at all. We simply capture what happens in front of us. The only exception to this is we are totally happy to shoot a few portraits of our couples and some family group photos too. But our documentary style is our main selling point.
