Clandon Park Wedding | Laura & Andrew

Friday 13th June 2014, unlucky for some perhaps, but not for us, nor was it for Laura and Andrew, who had an amazing Clandon Park wedding in glorious spring sunshine and we were the lucky one’s who got to photograph it.

Clandon Park, in Surrey, is a fantastic venue, not only from our perspective as photographers, but also for the couples getting married there. The arrangement of rooms in this historic venue, which is owned by The National Trust, make the perfect setting for the wedding day celebrations. Guests get to experience different parts of this unique venue throughout the day as the wedding progresses. When they arrive, they are ushered into the grand marble hall, where welcome drinks are served. They then move into the Tapestry Room, where the actual ceremony takes place. This is a breathtaking room for a photographer – every angle has a perfect backdrop and the couple and guests are lit beautifully by the full length windows in front of them. There is nothing better than a wall of natural daylight for illuminating a scene and making faces really come alive. It also provides a second photographer (Carol) to create stunning images from the back of the room, such as the one featured at the start of this post, which shows off the stunning ceiling of the room.

This is a condensed set of images from Laura & Andrews’s wedding, their final collection contained over 800 images. If you are planning a wedding at Clandon Park, then hopefully these images will give you an idea of how your own wedding could look at the venue, although obviously every wedding is uniquely different. Laura’s wedding day began at her parents house, with hair and make-up by Pam Wrigley at Wedding Makeup and Hair. Pam really knows how to make the very best of her clients, which for your wedding day is paramount. As an ex-fashion photographer, I’ve seen many of the world’s best makeup artists at work and have a full appreciation of their craft and the difference between good and average makeup. Pam’s work was truly top notch, no wonder she was National Winner of the Wedding Awards in 2013. If I were a bride, a good make up artist such as Pam would be high on my list of priorities – after booking a great photographer of course!
