Sam & Matt’s Buxted Park Wedding
A glorious summer’s day made the drive through the Sussex countryside a wonderful start to their Buxted Park wedding. Sam and Matt’s wedding, was a day full of love and friendship. Lots of fabulous emotions for me to capture. Like many of the couples that book me for their wedding photography, they were both quite shy when it came to posing for pictures. Which is perfect for me, as for the majority of the wedding day I won’t pose anyone I’m just an unobtrusive observer of the wedding.
Even during the portrait shots, I simply asked that we walked to a quiet spot in the gardens and only asked them to look at the camera once for a classic portrait. They both love skiing, which meant we had plenty to chat about on the day, as I’m a really keen skier myself. I’m never happier than when knee deep in powder on a pair of skis. The couple’s wedding cake featuring a skiing bride and groom was the kind of personal touch that make weddings special.

Wedding Venue – Buxted Park Hotel
Wedding Organiser – Marc Desseaux at Buxted Park (superb job Marc)
Buxted Park, in East Sussex is a Grade II listed Palladian mansion. Part of the Handpicked Hotels group, as many of our favourite venues are. Their hotels are always perfect. It has a colourful history. Built in 1722 by Sir Thomas Medley. It has played host to many famous characters including, William Wordsworth and Winston Churchill. It’s the perfect setting for a country house wedding in East Sussex.
The large bedrooms upstairs made a perfect location for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready for the day. Lots of room for all that make up and dresses. The whole hotel has great features, that make a perfect wedding backdrop for your wedding day photos. Including the lovely grounds. There’s also plenty of room for your guests to spread out and enjoy the surroundings.
If you’re looking for a Buxted Park Wedding Photographer for your own wedding day. Then why not get in touch. We’d love to chat with you about our unposed wedding photography.

Thx David, yes, so glad I spotted that in the background, just adds another dimension to it all.
Great storytelling there Paul & cracking opening shot with awaiting Groomsmen!
so many moments. great work
Thx Craig. Moments is what wedding photography is all about for me, so I strive to capture as many as possible, naturally and candidly, never asking my couples to pose for them.
Lovely set of images and I like your black and white processing. I also loved the little boy looking at the ring exchange! Great capture.
Thx Lynne, I’ve always had a soft spot for Black and White images, having grown up in a darkroom from a young age. They are what first got me into photography 35 years ago.
Great set Paul, I really like the crispness of your B&W work.
