An Exceptional London Wedding
What a truly amazing London wedding this was. We loved it when Anna-Fleur and Louis contacted us about their wedding. They were clearly a talented and creative couple, both with careers in the theatre industry. Louis has many claims to fame, but when they contacted us he was running the Immersive Great Gatsby experience – the UK’s longest running immersive production. The venue for that show was to be the location of their wedding reception and it made a great backdrop for their meal and party.
St Vedast Alias Foster Wedding
Anna-Fleur got ready in West London with her friends and family, before taking a wedding taxi over to St Vedast Church in the heart of the city. A fascinating church dating from 1308, but extensively rebuilt after the Great Fire of London in 1666. The choir, who were good friends of the couple were incredible. There were lots of musical interludes during the ceremony and it truly was a spectacle. Carol and I loved being a part of it all. One of their bridesmaids sang during the signing of the register. She had an incredible voice, it was just like being at a West End show for the day.
When the couple exited the church, I was outside waiting for them. I could never have expected that look of pure joy on both of their faces as they bounced down the steps. Images like the one above are one in a million. I was so happy to capture it for them. No posing, just pure reportage. The only photos we stage on a wedding day are group photos and couple portraits, everything else is shot as it happens, with zero interference or intrusion.
After the ceremony, we walked to Christchurch Greyfriars Church Garden to shoot some family group pics. Carol and the guests, then jumped into cabs and headed to the reception at Immersive London at 56 Davies St. for cocktails, the meal and the party. I meanwhile took the couple for a short walk over to the far side of St Paul’s Cathedral, as we wanted to see if we could get a shot of St Paul’s in one of their portraits. We got two amazing shots, so it was well worth the effort.
We then then jumped back in the cab to join the guests for the wedding breakfast and party, which included lots of family performances alongside the band, such a talented family. The whole day was a joy to shoot and we think the emotion shows in the images we were pleased to capture for Anna-Fleur and Louis.
London Wedding Photographers | Carol & Paul
“We can’t recommend Paul and Carol highly enough to all future wedding couples out there. The wedding day will be treasured for a lifetime, and one puts a great deal of trust into their photographers to capture it for ever. Paul and Carol’s photographs not only beautifully tell the story of our day, but each photograph magically captures the joy and all the emotions shared from beginning to end. Paul and Carol set us completely at ease with a fantastic advance prep session, and throughout the wedding day they were unobtrusive, very professional and helped us all feel so relaxed and calm. We were so impressed at the research they had made in advance of our wedding ceremony venue and reception venue, and had made careful plans of how best to capture each moment. The final gallery has blown us away. We can’t stop looking through our photos and we couldn’t be more delighted. Thank you so much Paul and Carol!”
