Gate Street Barn Wedding Photography
Lisa and Peter’s Gate Street Barn wedding really was an amazing day to capture for me. As with all weddings, you never quite know what you might get from the images on the day, because 95% of the day is unposed and shot as it happens. So the final images depend on not only the skill of the photographer but also what people do and what happens on the day. This wedding just gave me so much to work with. Lots of love and tears, a group of opera singers turning up just after the ceremony and really surprising everyone in the room. They sounded amazing I’ve got to admit and I was running around trying to capture all of the action, extremely hard when there are three singers plus a fourth, one of the guests taking part.
I was glad I had my new cameras with me, the Sony A9’s which enable super fast shooting and accurate focusing in such moments. Cameras don’t take pictures – photographers do – however, having a good tool allows you to concentrate on the moment in front of you and allow the camera to take care of certain parts of the process.
Lisa and Peter’s day was full of music. Peter’s family were all very musical and spent much of the day singing for the guests, which was lovely. Music for the ceremony exit was provided by the guests playing Kazoo’s, which made a change from the norm. Weddings are great, where couples let their personality shine through on the day, that’s so important I think.

It was a lot of fun to shoot from start to finish. So much happening. Thx Dominic.
Great set of images Paul Fletcher, really well composed and lovely rich colours, plus awesome black and whites as always!
Thx Paul. I do love my BW, but its great when the colours work well too. Really enjoyed processing the evening shots on this wedding especially.
Great work Paul, excellent story-telling as always and I love the colour and fun you have captured here.
Thx Jamie
Cracking set of images Paul – lovely work
Lisa and Peter’s looks like so much fun, love a good Kazoo
Beautiful work as always Paul! Love the shot of the bride reading her card in the morning and all the shots of kids thought the day.
Awww, thx David. Those kids were fun to shoot. It’s one of the few weddings I’ve ever shot where people actually played the garden games and enjoyed them. That’s only a fraction of the fun kid shots from the day.
I love all of the candid shots! Looked like a great wedding to capture.
Thx Laura it was a lot of fun to shoot that day. Kept me on my toes as well, so much going on. But great fun.
