Bibury Court Wedding Photographer

It was great to be chosen as Laura & Andy’s Bibury Court wedding photographer. Shot in December, just before Christmas last year, it was a great way to end a fantastic year. This was my first time shooting at Bibury Court and it was a great experience, I hope I’m able to return there soon.

Bibury is a beautiful little village in The Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, full of beautiful countryside and lovely little stone cottages. It was a shame it was so wet and cold on the wedding day, as Laura & Andy really didn’t want to go too far from the main house for their couple portraits. It was so muddy everywhere (brides will insist on wearing high heels and white dresses to weddings!)

The bridal preparations all took place at Bibury Court, followed by a ceremony at St John the Baptist Church in Coln St Aldwyns, a short journey away in the beautiful Alvis wedding car. After the ceremony, everyone headed back to the venue for a champagne reception, with the guests being entertained by magician Will Gray. The reception room was beautifully decorated and lit with candles, making it very atmospheric and throwing beautiful light on to the couples faces, which always helps the images look even better. The best man made a very entertaining speech, which had Andy covering his ears – I love shots like that – real moments captured forever. It’s what documentary wedding photography is all about.
